CLASSES – HORSES
HORSE CLASSES
Classes 200 to 206 & 217 are qualifying classes for the Royal International Horse Show and Horses must be registered on the 2011 Show Hunter Register. Owners & Riders must be Members of Sport Horse Breeding (GB). A £8.00 R.I.H.S levy is included in the entry fees.
CONDITIONS. All hunter classes will be judged under Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain rules. Classes 200 to 206 & 217 are qualifying events for the 2011 Royal International Horse Show and only horses registered on the 2011 show hunter register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry forms and owners and riders must be full members of the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain.
The two highest placed horses in classes 200, 201, 202, 203, 204 will qualify to enter at the Royal International Horse Show. No horse lower than second place in its class will qualify for the RIHS. The first three placed horses in the Amateur Ridden & Working Hunter classes 205, 206 & 217 will qualify to enter at the Royal International Horse Show. No horse lower than third place in classes 205, 206 & 217 will qualify for the RIHS.
“The National Hunter Supreme Championship Show” qualifying classes. All Hunter Classes will be judged under Society’s Rules. Classes 200, 201, 202 & 203 are qualifying events for this year’s NHSCS and only horses registered on the current year Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration must be quoted on entry forms and owners & riders must be members of the Society. The three highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter at the NHSCS. No horse lower than third in its class will qualify.
EQUIFEST SUPREME RIDDEN HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIP: The show is a qualifier for the Equifest Supreme Ridden Hunter Championship taking place at East of England Showground on Saturday 20th Aug 2011. The Championship Ridden Hunter will qualify. In the event that the Champion has already qualified, the qualification may pass no lower the Reserve Champion. Full details on the Finals will be sent to all qualified exhibitors by the East of England Agricultural Society. Entries for the Equifest Supreme Ridden Hunter Championship close Monday 1st August 2011. East of England Agricultural Society will award £100.00 prize money to the qualifying horse and a qualifying Rosette.

Accept remuneration whether it be monetary or goods in kind for employment in connection with horses in a racing, showing or livery stables or riding school (instruction at Pony Club & Riding Club excepted), since 1st Jan 2009 3.) Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm, or a horse for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate concern, since 1st Jan 2009 4.) Show a horse which a professional rider has qualified in the Weight or Small ridden Hunter Class for either the HOYS or the RIHS during the current year, unless the horse has subsequently been re-registered under new ownership. 5.) Professional show persons must not enter the Amateur Ring whilst the classes are in progress. 6.) A Professional Rider must not ride or exercise an Amateurs horse on the day it is competing in Amateur Classes.

BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION CONDITIONS
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be Association members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Classes 208, 209, 210, 212, 213, 215 & 216 are qualifiers for THE ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW. The first prize winner will qualify to compete in the final. If already qualified the second placed will qualify, if first and second have qualified, then the third will go forward. No Cob in lower than third place in its class will qualify for the R.I.H.S. RIHS Maxi Cob Classes the first 3 exhibitors will qualify. Horses competing in Sport Horse Breeding of GB classes at their affiliated shows cannot compete in Hack & Riding Horse classes at the same show.
National Championship Show. 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizewinners in all open affiliated classes will qualify for the BSHA Classic Supreme classes at the National Championship Show on September 9th & 10th 2011.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider & Amateur rosette in each open class and a Championship rosette of each section.

217. RIHS Working Hunter. Mare or gelding or stallion (competing stallions must have a red, white & blue ribbon displayed in their tail), 4 years old or over, exceeding 148 cm (14.2hh approx), Grade A Show Jumpers and Advanced Eventers are not eligible to compete in this class. Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st Jan in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter Classes. To be judged 60% for jumping performance, 40% as for Hunter Classes. The jumping to be judged 40% for actual jumping and 20% for style and presence and 40% for ride and conformation. Fences will be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 in number and a maximum height of 1.14m (3ft 9ins) at the discretion of the Judge. No change of tack or rider is allowed except if a sidesaddle is used, then the saddle may be changed for the Judges ride. Exhibitors can now enter up to two horses in a Working Hunter class but following the jumping phase it will be up to the exhibitor to select only one horse to take forward into the ridden & conformation section if required. A skullcap or hard hat with safety harness and navy or black cover must be worn to current approved BSI or European standards during the jumping phase. No hind boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collecting ring, warm up or in the actual class. Horses displaying continued disobedience, or horses leaving the ring mounted or dismounted will be eliminated. Working Hunters should initially be call in and lined up in random order.

SECTION III Conformation and Type.
Note: following Section III, the ten horses with the highest marks will proceed to Section IV. In the event of equality of marks at this stage, the horse with the higher jumping marks will be given precedence. Should this still produce an equality of marks, all horses on that same jumping mark will come forward.
SECTION IV Suitability and Potential
Only the top ten horses are required for this section where they will be judged for star quality and potential to make the ULTIMATE THREE DAY EVENT HORSE. These horses will be required to gallop.
Note: in the event of equality of marks at the end, i.e. after all four sections, the jumping marks will be given precedence. Should this still produce an equality of marks, the highest mark attained in the final section will be the deciding factor.
