MAEDI VISNA ACCREDITED SHEEP
Exhibitors with accredited sheep must indicate this status on the entry form. All MV accredited sheep must be accompanied with a VALID green SAC Certificate of Status (To be VALID, the SAC Certificate must be within the expiry date shown in the top line of the Certificate, details of animals entered, signed and dated by the exhibitor. The valid Certificate must be presented on arrival at the Showground before the sheep can be allowed entry into the Maedi Visna Accredited Sheep section. Sheep from MV accredited flocks are not required to be tested prior to movement to the Show nor will they need to be privately blood tested on return to the farm as approved segregation facilities exist at the show. However, any MV accredited sheep which come into contact with non-MV accredited sheep must be kept isolated upon return to the accredited holding. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Entries must be registered/notified in the Exhibitors name in accordance with the British Angora Goat Society requirements.
2. Classes will be judged in accordance with the rules of the British Angora Goat Society.
3. All goats must have been shorn bare on or after 1.1.2008
4. The bathing of goats is discouraged, but if done, this or dipping must be undertaken at least one month prior to the show.
5. Exhibitors must report to the Angora Goat Steward on arrival. All entries are to be on the showground and penned by 8.30am and may not leave before 5.00pm.
6. Exhibitors must provide fodder, feeding/drinking utensils for their own animals. Pens are in a tent on grass/grazed parkland.
7. A veterinary surgeon will be in attendance during the course of the day with inspection of stock, taking place after penning.
8. All goats, including kids, should be led on a halter or equivalent and exhibitors must wear a white coat in the show ring.
9. Separate accommodation will be made for accredited goats within the S.A.C scheme.
10. All CAE accredited goats must be accompanied with green SAC Certificate of Status (note expiry date on top line). The valid Certificate must be presented on arrival at the showground before the goats can be allowed entry into the CAE Accredited Goat section.
11. Does with kids at foot may attend the show but kids will not be allowed in the show ring apart from classes 121 & 122.
The exhibitor, by entering the show, agrees to abide by the above conditions and is obliged to follow the instructions of the Rutland Agricultural Society Stewards.

Special 13. THE NEVILLE TUCK Memorial Perpetual Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the Champion. The winner must be a Member of the Rutland Agric Society or join on receipt of the award. Champion Rosette and Sash will be awarded by The Rutland Agricultural Society to the Champion Animal in the above classes. The British Angora Goat Society will award a Champion Sash. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Veteran Doe born in 2002 or before. The Anglian Fibre Producers will give a Special Rosette for the best animal owned by a member of the AFP Group. A Cup will be awarded to the best Yearling (Doe or Buck), bred and owned by the exhibitor. The Cup will be held for one year.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The goat classes are held under the rules, regulations and recognition of the British Goat Society. All exhibits must be registered with the B.G.S., 34-36 Fore Street, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot, Devon. TQ13 9AD. All exhibits must be registered with the B.G.S. as in the ownership and in the name of the exhibitor. The registered name, number and earmark must be quoted on the entry form together with that of the sire and dam and the last kidding date of goat in milk. All goats in milk must have kidded or aborted a minimum of 30 days prior to the date of the show. Classes will be split where four animals of each breed are going before the judge.
2. No pregnant goat may be admitted to the showground. In the event of an unforeseen kidding or abortion, the goat must immediately be isolated from all other goats. Full details of the goat exhibitor and action taken must be reported in writing by the Chief Steward to the B.G.S. secretary immediately after the show.
3. All entries must be accompanied by a C.A.E. Negative Certificate, issued during the previous twelve months and current at the date of the show. No Entries will be accepted in the B or W Categories unless CAE Blood Test results are on BGS submission forms or Sheep & Goat Health Scheme forms. This is to enable quick and accurate confirmation of the status of the Goats attending a Show. Kids and Goatlings to arrive by 9.00am on the day of the show. Goats in milk must arrive by 5.00pm on Saturday for milking out at 6.00pm.

5. Please note that if lambing/kidding occurs in animals originating from premises not registered under the scrapie monitoring scheme or category 1V of the Sheep & Goat Health Scheme, the scrapie status of all animals at the unsegregated show/sale and premises, (if those animals return), may be jeopardised. To try to limit the effect of such lambings/kiddings or abortions, the Show Secretary will report them immediately to the local DVM to allow a visit to the showground by an Animal Health/Vet Officer who can then conduct an enquiry and more easily identify the animals put at risk.
Please indicate on the entry form which category is required to enable the correct penning to be provided. 1. C.A.E. Negative tested goats. 2. B.G.S. Monitored Scheme goats.
Exhibitors are requested not to bring any goats to the showground that have ever had a positive reaction to a C.A.E. test and not to feed milk produced at the show to goats of any age. Milking buckets must be at the weighing area 30 minutes before the start of milking.
The registered number of any goat, initially entered as R.A.F. (registration applied for) must be submitted to the show organisers before the goat competes.

The “TREMEDDA SELENE” Challenge Cup, goat securing highest points in Milking Competition, giving a minimum total yield 2.5kg with 3% B/F at each milking to qualify.

British Goat Society Rosette for Best Goat in Show. British Goat Society Challenge Certificate for the Best goat borne a kid.
British Goat Society Challenge Certificate for the Best Inspection/Production goat.
British Goat Society Breed Challenge Certificate for the Best goat that has borne a kid in each of the following breeds: Saanen, Toggenburg, Anglo-Nubian, British-Saanen, British Toggenburg, British-Alpine, British-Guernsey, Golden Guernsey.
A Certificate of Merit will be awarded for the Best British Milker that has borne a kid.
Any goat disqualified in the Milking Competition is ineligible.
All special prizes, except rosettes, offered and awarded will be forwarded by The British Goat Society direct to the winners.
